A thigh lift is a cosmetic surgery procedure performed to remove sagging skin and excess fat tissue from the upper thigh area. This surgery gives the thigh contour a more toned and youthful appearance.
Who is it for?
• Sagging skin and loss of elasticity on the upper thighs
• Loose skin following significant weight loss
• Fatty deposits that cannot be removed through exercise and diet
• Those wishing to aesthetically improve the appearance of their thighs
Consultation
• The elasticity of the skin and the amount of fat in the upper thigh area are assessed.
• The patient's expectations are discussed: a skin-only lift, a procedure combined with liposuction, or a full thigh lift.
• The recovery period, results and risks are explained to the patient.
The Surgical Procedure
• Usually performed under a general anaesthetic.
• Local anaesthetic and sedation may rarely be used for minor procedures.
• Incisions are made on the inner or back of the thigh so that the scars are as discreet as possible.
• The excess skin and fat tissue are removed, and the thigh contour is shaped.
• The surgery takes approximately 2 hours.
• In most cases, the patient is discharged home the next day.
Recovery Process
• Swelling, bruising, and discomfort are normal for the first 1–2 weeks.
• A compression garment must be worn for 1 month after the operation.
• Strenuous physical activity and sport are restricted for 4–6 weeks.
• The final result becomes apparent within 1–3 months.
