Butt lift is a cosmetic surgical procedure performed to tighten sagging skin, remove excess soft tissue, and restore elasticity in the buttock area, creating a firmer, more lifted, and better-contoured appearance. It is an ideal option for individuals experiencing skin laxity due to aging or significant weight loss.

Who Is a Good Candidate?

  • Individuals with sagging and loss of elasticity in the buttocks
  • Those with loose skin after rapid or major weight loss
  • People unhappy with the shape or firmness of their buttocks
  • Individuals with excess skin and fat deposits that cannot be improved through diet and exercise

Consultation

  • During the consultation:
  • The surgeon evaluates the buttock shape, degree of sagging, and skin elasticity.
  • Based on the patient’s goals, the following options may be discussed:
  • Skin tightening (butt lift alone)
  • Butt lift combined with liposuction
  • Butt lift combined with fat transfer (similar to a Brazilian Butt Lift effect)
  • Full buttock lift procedures
  • Recovery process, scarring, expected results, and procedural details are explained in detail.

Procedure

  • The surgery is typically performed under general anesthesia.
  • For minor corrections, sedation with local anesthesia may be sufficient.
  • Incisions are usually made:
  • Along the upper buttock area
  • In the lower back crease
  • Or along the sides
  • Incisions are carefully planned to be hidden within underwear lines.
  • Excess sagging skin is removed.
  • Liposuction may be performed if contour correction is needed.
  • The buttocks are lifted and reshaped to achieve a firmer, elevated appearance.
  • The procedure generally takes about 2 hours.

Recovery Process

  • Mild difficulty sitting or lying down may occur in the first few days.
  • Swelling, mild pain, and bruising are normal.
  • A compression garment should be worn for 2–3 weeks.
  • Strenuous physical activities should be avoided for approximately 3 months.
  • Final results typically become fully visible within 6 months.
